THE HAGUE, Netherlands — Most personal safety tools depend on someone taking action. You press a panic button, call an emergency number, or share your location. Research shows that this can be a serious limitation. In a published clinical study of 298 women assessed within a month of a sexual assault, 70 percent reported significant involuntary immobility. MyHives’ own field research among 300 women found something similar. Many said they deliberately did not reach for their phone because it could show fear, and showing fear felt dangerous. This is where BEEKON comes in.
BEEKON is the AI safety guardian developed by MyHives. It is designed for situations where someone may not be able to actively ask for help. BEEKON notices the moments that matter and can alert the trusted circle that person created in the app: such as family, friends or colleagues, with what happened and where. Nothing is shared until something is wrong.
This also means that BEEKON can support people at work, especially those who work alone or in situations where help may not always be nearby. Trials are currently running with organizations whose combined contracted workforce exceeds 33.000 people, including homecare and facility-services teams. While BEEKON focuses on recognizing when someone may need help and alerting the people they trust, BEEKON+ takes it one step further and adds another layer of protection.
BEEKON+ is a credit-card-sized device that works independently from your phone and can connect in more than 170 countries. Its built-in sensors monitor the air for signs of toxic gases, carbon monoxide and fire risk, and can alert people when they detect possible danger. The device can also respond to human threats, such as break-in or robbery. BEEKON+ is currently in engineering validation, with the first shipments planned for early 2027. The difference between BEEKON and BEEKON+ is important: “BEEKON tells the people you trust. Only BEEKON+ calls the emergency services.”
