Sober Founders, a Florida-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit built by and for entrepreneurs in recovery, today announced milestone impact from its first full year of operations. The organization has supported hundreds of sober founders in growing their businesses while maintaining long-term sobriety, with more than 1,000 lives impacted through coaching, education, community, and accountability.
Sober Founders fills a gap that traditional recovery groups and standard business masterminds often miss: a safe, judgment-free space where people can work a 12-step program while also talking honestly about hiring, scaling, and leading teams in high-pressure environments.
“Entrepreneurs in recovery seem to be few and far between in normal 12-step rooms. It’s not that they don’t exist – our nonprofit shows that – but the struggles we face are unique. You can’t just show up in any 12 step meeting and expect there to be others who have built 6,7,8+ figure companies. That’s not what it’s designed for.” said Andrew Lassise, Founder of Sober Founders. “We built Sober Founders so people like us don’t have to choose between staying sober and scaling a company.”
Sober Founders combines peer support with high-level business strategy through:
- Free weekly mastermind groups – confidential Zoom-based forums where sober entrepreneurs bring real business and recovery challenges to the same table
- Phoenix Forum and advanced peer groups – curated tracks for businesses doing $250,000+ and $1M+ in annual revenue
- Workshops and events focused on business strategy, financial management, and personal development through the lens of recovery
Core membership is free for all sober entrepreneurs, regardless of time and revenue.
In its first year, Sober Founders reports:
